An early construction budget based on real project data from KAMP's completed projects in Kampot.
Based on construction data from KAMP's completed projects.
Different parts of the project are considered separately, including areas, specifications, glazing and equipment.
An early budget indication designed to help clients make better decisions before the project is fully defined.
Total enclosed area — bedrooms, living spaces, kitchen, everything under roof.
Slab + roof — often as large as the house itself in Cambodia.
Standalone structure — NOT open carports under the main roof, which are already free. Leave at 0 if you only need parking space.
Check the elevations/facades if unsure; this is the single biggest lever we've seen underestimate real quotes. A "Standard" spec house can still have large architectural windows — glazing is a design choice, not a finish-level consequence.
Foundations are not included in this estimate. Ground conditions can significantly affect construction cost.
Depending on soil conditions and building type, ground adaptation works typically add 10% to 30% on top of the estimated range — the low end for shallow foundations on standard soil, the high end when pile foundations are required (common on soft or uncertain soil, and systematic for multi-level builds). As a reference, foundation costs alone typically range $65–140/m² of covered slab depending on soil conditions and whether piles are required. A geotechnical study is required before establishing a final construction budget — never commit a final budget before one is done.
Also excluded: land cost, OPM fees, and VAT. Detached garages/workshops are costed separately in "Your home" above if you entered a size; open carports under the main roof are already free. A firm price only comes from a tendered contract against final drawings and confirmed contractor quotations.
Construction costs vary according to design development, specifications, site conditions and contractor pricing. The range reflects the preliminary nature of the estimate.

KAMP can help you review the assumptions, refine the budget and define the next step for your project.
This estimator is built from KAMP's five most recent projects over roughly the last three years, checked against each new project as it goes to quotation. The base is updated progressively as new data comes in — it's a living estimation tool, not a fixed price list. It gives you a first sense of scale, and gives us a starting point for assessing your project.
The range above is a planning figure, not a quote. As your project moves from an idea toward a buildable design, the budget gets re-checked at each real milestone:
Contractor quotations only come in once the plans are defined enough to price properly. When they do, we review the amounts, quantities, and specifications against the brief — checking for omissions or figures that don't add up — before you commit.
